Janya Wongsopa

C.A.S., P.K.S., Yoga Instructor

The connection to beauty and harmony within nature lies deep in Janya’s consciousness. Early in life her focus was arts and design. The desire to delve deeper into the language of beauty led her to work with some of the most influential fashion houses in New York City for several years after graduating from F.I.T. After spending a period of her life working in fashion design Janya found herself driven toward another direction and finally left her corporate work. The yearning to be one with her true nature and the inner harmonious beauty culminates in her practice of yoga and the study of Ayurveda. She has completed the Pancha Karma Specialist training at the California College of Ayurveda and is completing her certification as a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist. Janya has completed an Ayurvedic apprenticeship with Ragaia Belovarac at Blue Sage Sanctuary.

Before joining Blue Sage Sanctuary, Janya worked as a coordinator at Ayoma Lifespa, an ayurvedic spa in San Jose. She also taught yoga to its staff members and at a high tech corporation. Through her yoga practice and her dedication to learn the science of Ayurveda, Janya came to recognize that true beauty exists within nature in a complete cycle of birth, life and death. Ayurveda as a healing system empowers an individual to align themselves with nature and its cycle which ultimately enable a person to live life at its fullest. Her passion to share the science of Ayurveda and its healing power manifests in her joining energies with Blue Sage Sanctuary. In this special place the intention to heal emanates through every element it holds. In this beautiful space Janya feels she can fully share her intuitive healing gifts.

Janya grew up in Thailand where Ayurvedic principles were an integrative part of a household. Cooking foods was a family ritual and herbal remedies were basic solutions to minor dis-ease symptoms. Her coming to learn Ayurveda formally is an homage to her cultural heritage and her authentic self. Through the ebb and flow of life and the challenges and experiences it brings, she has come to realize that life is a path for the unfolding of consciousness. Each symptom, ache and pain and even death reveal a certain lesson to overcome and contributes to the evolution of the soul. Janya’s focus is on the conscious journey of an individual and her total acceptance of where each individual is in their journey.

Janya believes true healing occurs through real education that goes beyond the boundary of the physical senses and recognizes who we are and why we are here. She feels Ayurveda provides not only the tools to treat physical symptoms effectively but real education where true healing begins and continues on long after the cessation of the physical body.
